Common Questions and Answers about the Care of your Pet's Skin and Hair Coat
When will I notice the effects of the skin enrichment spray on my pet?
Improvements in the skin and hair coat of your pet should be recognizeable immediately after the first treatment. If the product is applied properly (using the double sided brush), you should notice a shinier hair coat and a more pleasant aroma right away. After a few days of treatments the skin should become moisturized and more supple. Less dirt, grime and oil should be present on the skin and hair coat as well. The presence of flakes, scale and dead skin should also be reduced.
Do I really need to use a two-sided brush, as recommended?
To achieve the best results for your pet's skin and hair coat it is important to use the specially designed two-sided brush in the skin enrichment application. The stiff wire side of the brush works to prepare the skin for the application of the product by exfoliating or cleansing the skin as well as by increasing the blood circulation to the epidermal or outer layer of the skin. Once the skin is prepared and the product has been sprayed onto your pet, the wire side of the brush is used again to drive the product through the hair coat and into the epidermis. The soft side of the brush is used to spread the product over the more sensitive areas of the body like the underbelly and the face. The soft side of the brush is also used to spread the product more evenly over your pet's entire body as well as to finish the hair coat giving it a nice shine.
How long should one bottle of Epi-Pet Skin Treatment last?
One 16oz. bottle of the Epi-Pet Skin Treatment spray should last two months on an average sized pet with a medium hair coat. Larger dogs and cats with thicker hair coats will use more product to maintain the health of their skin.
How frequently should I shampoo my pet?
We optimally should bathe our pets once or twice a month. Over shampooing dehydrates and strips the epidermal layer of the pet's skin creating conditions that allow for the occurance of irritations, over dryness, and bacterial and fungal infections. The Skin Treatment Spray, if applied regularly, will help keep the skin of those pets that receive frequent baths moist and enriched.
Will Epi-Pet's Enrichment Spray interfere with popular flea preventatives like Vectra, Vectra 3-D or Comfortis ?
No, Epi-Pet enrichment sprays will complement the flea and tick product of choice. The Epi-Pet cedar enrichment spray has 6 natural bug repellents, the lavender enrichment spray has 5 natural bug repellents. the unscented enrichment spray has 1 natural bug repellent. The ingredients that Epi-Pet uses are the same ingredients that organic farmers use in powder form.
